The use of hookless (straight) rims in the 353 NSW is an essential part of "Making You Faster." With hookless, the transition between tire and rim is more seamless and aerodynamic. Zipp's hookless rims have a more efficient resin distribution, which means lighter and stronger wheels. The sawtooth rim shape of the Zipp 353 NSW with Hyperfoils optimizes aerodynamic efficiency and crosswind stability. The sawtooth design also allows the rim to be structurally strong yet lightweight. This helps you accelerate out of corners and maintain that speed regardless of terrain, especially on short, crisp climbs. The Zipp 353 NSW uses the TSE (Total System Efficiency) approach to wheel design and overcoming specific speed barriers: wind resistance, gravity, rolling resistance, and vibration losses. The 25 mm inner rim width is perfect for riding wider, tubeless tires with reduced air pressure.
